Notes From The Studio – Design Projects
Over the last year I’ve been busy. Not only do I design our own products but I’ve been lucky enough to become more multi-faceted and developed our Design Studio.
I offer an innovative design service to apply the same creative intent and passion used for our products to bring exciting possibilities and projects to life. I work collaboratively with clients who match our enthusiasm and passion for design and are filled with love for what they do.
Here are two of the design projects I’ve been asked to work on so far this year.
YSP Food Packaging Design
I started the year with a dream design project designing the packaging for the new Yorkshire Sculpture Park food range. Inspired by the landscape around the park and in particularly reminiscent of the ripples of the lake the key was simplicity of design and layout coupled with earthy and timeless colour combinations. The exclusive products include honey harvested from the Bretton Estate, sustainably sourced chocolate, art house blend coffee, biscuits, fudge, jams and preserves all featuring our designs all featuring our designs and layouts.
The range is available to buy in both YSP shops – Visitor Centre Shop and the Weston Shop.
Boo Vake
Arlene supports modern Scottish and UK design through her independent Perth-based design shop Boo Vake. The brief was to produce a new logo and branding taking inspiration from the origins of the name Boo Vake – Bùth Bheag – a small shop in Scottish Gaelic. With colours inspired by a visit to Tobermory on Mull and incorporating simple shapes of small homes and shops the new branding updates the shop image into the future (I designed the last logo 10 years ago!)
