Workshops

I love sharing my passion for design and screen printing. The experience of being creative, be it dipping your toe and learning a new skill or developing your design skills in a beautiful rural Yorkshire Wolds setting is a pretty special way to spend a few hours.

All workshop dates below will be hosted in my Print Yard Studio.

Workshops are for all abilities from beginners onwards – come along for a creative experience focused around printmaking, pattern and colour.

Includes all materials, hot drinks and delicious snacks – plus possible new friendships and a splash of outdoors and rural Wolds life in the beautiful Yorkshire village of Nunburnholme.

INTRODUCTION TO SCREEN PRINTING – 4 hours
Friday 3rd July
Join designer and screen printer Alison Hardcastle for an introduction in to the creative process of screen printing. Design and cut out your own stencil which will then be fixed to the screen and used to print your own design on to paper multiple times. A great way of producing a print for yourself or as a gift. It’s a lovely way to spend a few hours with a friend or relative in a relaxed, creative and peaceful rural print studio setting.

BEACH DAYS & HOLIDAYS : SUMMER INSPIRED SCREEN PRINTING – 4 Hours
Saturday 11th July
Join me in my Nunburnholme Print Studio for a loosely themed workshop introducing the technique of screen printing with a strong focus on summer destinations, beaches and holidays. Think vintage seaside town posters, palm trees, wave patterns and all things holiday!

CHILDREN’S PARTIES
Children’s screen printing parties are a fun and creative way to spend a few hours with friends. 

Suitable for 8-14 year olds I can accommodate up to 8 children in my studio. 

Children will be given a short demonstration of what we’ll be doing, then they can create their own design or use one of my pre-made designs to screen print on to the item of their choice. 

Options on offer will be : T Shirt or Canvas bag. 

There will be a break 1 hour in and you are welcome to provide your own food and snacks.

CREATIVE TEAM & CLUB WORKSHOPS
Do you have a small team in your business and want to reward them with an unusual and fun creative activity? Or do you belong a running/swimming/cycling club and you think this would be a great opportunity to socialise and create something?
I can accommodate up to 6 adults for a few hours of screen printing.

BESPOKE WEDDING WORKSHOP
In addition to offering hand screen printed wedding and occasion stationery I can offer the unique opportunity for you as a couple to come in to my studio and do some screen printing yourself before the big day! 

You may want to spend the time designing and printing any of the following :

• Wedding invitation design – design and print the covers of your wedding invitations or can be designed in advance and printed by yourselves
• Mini Print Favours – designed by you as very unique personalised wedding favours
• A print to celebrate your engagement or the big day
• Prints for the tables as centrepieces or gifts for your bridesmaids/groomsmen/in-laws 

In advance of the day we can discuss what you’d like to print. 
I’m happy to make the day as bespoke as your big day and plan around what you’d like to do

HEN PARTIES
A great activity for a creative hen!

The workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities. Every participant will leave with their own hand printed item and you can choose from :

T Shirt or Canvas bag as well as printing on paper also. 

Create your very own print from your own design or using one of my pre-made designs. 

Other options – All participants print on to a square of card and these will all be framed up to form one piece of artwork for the hen.
